Moving to Latin America? Start speaking before you land.
The Spanish you need for your first weeks: renting a flat, opening a bank account, seeing a doctor and making real friends. Live one-on-one classes with Paula, a Colombian teacher.
The situations we rehearse
Home
Viewing flats, reading a contract, talking to the landlord and the neighbours.
Money and paperwork
Banks, phone plans, offices and the forms that come with a move.
Health
Pharmacies, doctors and explaining what is wrong, calmly.
Friends and daily life
Small talk, invitations, transport, markets and the local slang you will hear on day one.
Colombia, Mexico and beyond
Paula is Colombian and has travelled across Latin America. You learn the Spanish people really speak, not a textbook version.
We start with the Spanish that works everywhere, then add the words and expressions of the country you are moving to. Curious? Read the blog for local expressions and practical guides.
What students say
★★★★★Great teacher! Really knows about music, events and culture. She shaped the lessons to help me prepare to throw events and work on music in Colombia. Super helpful! Also very kind, direct and honest.
Alex
★★★★★Paula's class is very informative and it is obvious she enjoys helping people learn. She develops a learning plan to fit your personal needs and makes it enjoyable as well. Su clase es muy divertida!
Brian
★★★★★I had a great trial lesson with Paula. She was patient and clear, and took the time to get to know what I want from classes. I’m a beginner at speaking and she corrected my grammar via message when I made mistakes, which worked well. The lesson was also fun!

Frequently asked questions
Is Colombian Spanish useful if I move to Mexico or another country?
Yes. Colombian Spanish is known for its clear pronunciation, and the core of Latin American Spanish is shared. Paula also teaches the words that change from country to country, so you sound natural where you live.
I am moving in a few months. How many classes do I need?
If your move is close, the Fluidez (8 classes a month) or Inmersión (12) packages give you the most practice in the time you have. In the trial class we plan backwards from your moving date.
Can we practice my real situations?
That is the point. Your rental contract, your visit to the bank, the call to the doctor: we rehearse them before they happen.
Can my partner join?
Yes. Let's Speak for 2 People is made for couples: one class for both, at €35 per hour together.
Can I keep taking classes after I move?
Of course. Once you have arrived, every class is about your real life there.
Land ready to talk.
Book a trial class, tell Paula where and when you are moving, and get a plan for the time you have.
